Heritage House of Richmond Wins 5-Star Medicare Award!

Heritage House of Richmond was featured in the Palladium Item for its 5 star Medicare Award, the only 5 star in Wayne County!

One Wayne County nursing home, one Randolph County nursing home and two Preble County, Ohio, nursing homes recently received the top five-star ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Each care facility is ranked on a five-star scale, with five being the best score, and the scores are posted publicly on the Nursing Home Compare website, www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare/search.html.

Heritage House Grills Out!

At Heritage House, we love when it gets warmer outside.  We plant vegetable gardens, organize more outings, and grill out as much as possible! At Heritage House of Greensburg on Tuesday, our residents helped Chef Josh grill burgers on the patio. Resident Mary Schaffer said “it was the best burger I ever had!” Please join us at our next barbecue – ask your local Heritage House staff for details.

Monday kicks off National Nursing Home Week! We have tons of fun activities and events going on this week at each of our four locations. Today Mayor Greg York stopped by Heritage House of New Castle to read the National Nursing Home Week Proclamation. Heritage House of Greensburg and Heritage House of Richmond are both seeking qualified and enthusiastic Certified Dietary Managers to join our growing culinary and dietary team. Both Heritage Houses are seeking a full time certified dietary manager to train, develop and motivate our dietary staff and work with our chef on exciting new menus. We prefer organized candidates with experience in long term care regulations, and offer competitive pay. Heritage House welcomes Chef Josh Horrigan to revamp dining program!

Heritage House is excited to welcome Indianapolis-based Chef Josh Horrigan, of Culinary and Hospitality Solutions and Annabelle’s Garden, to revamp its dining initiatives.

Chef Horrigan has designed a brand new culinary program for Heritage House’s Richmond, New Castle, and Greensburg locations.

Heritage House wanted to give its residents more choices, a more homelike dining experience, and better than restaurant quality cuisine. From scratch cooking, fresher ingredients, proper culinary techniques, nutritional emphasis, plate presentation and increased menu variety are main goals for the senior living and rehab communities.

Greensburg radio station WTRE recently invited Heritage House’s Chef Josh Horrigan to cook a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner for three lucky listeners.

Chef Josh prepared the ladies a three-course meal including a stuffed mushroom and romaine salad, steak au poivre with shrimp scampi, twice baked potatoes and asparagus, and chocolate heat, a special no bake chili-infused dessert recipe from Heritage House’s pastry chef, Charlene Petrov.
